This is such an important point. One of things I believe the equality act 2010 excelled at was its definition of trans identities being broad enough to include those proposing to undergo transition - without age qualification. This should provide a powerful legal weapon to resist this rebranding.
There is a wholescale concerted effort to rebrand trans children as gender questioning children.

If the whole group are re-labelled, then they cannot claim rights as a minority group.

If they are all re-labelled, then conversion efforts can just about helping them 'explore their gender'.

Watching the usual political circus unfold.

Mandelson is now playing the usual lightning-rod role for an outraged political establishment. Little to no acknowledgement he’s the tip of an iceberg.

This is part of a political culture that’s pushing our democracy towards corporate oligarchy.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

“The Spanish government has announced a plan to legalise the status of undocumented migrants, a measure expected to benefit at least half a million people.”

This is great news from Spain! 🇪🇸

It’s possible for governments to refuse racist politics and provide greater security for people who migrate.
Spain plans to give 500,000 undocumented migrants legal status
The process will be available to foreign nationals without a criminal record who can prove they lived in Spain for five months prior to 31 December 2025.

Can’t believe 2026 is a write off already. It’s like a brand new car driven out of the showroom and then immediately smashed, set on fire, and buried in horseshit. Can we pretend this is just the death throes of 2025 and actually this going to be a great year?

Pretty sure a child in Asda yesterday thought I was Santa. I thought I was still in the same age group as James Bond, but apparently I’m into Santa Claus/Gandalf territory. Better than being deid, I suppose.

Really loving the impact @zackpolanski.bsky.social is having on the national conversation. Don’t like the way it’s often portrayed as all being about him though, as I’m sure he doesn’t either. Hopefully we can get more screen time for other charismatic Green figures to really seize the moment.

On the subject of BBC bias, I’d just say that I’m pretty sure they haven’t had the same kind of conversation with regular contributor Sharron Davies that they’ve had with Robin outlined below.
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

The absolute key point that can never be restated enough. Illegal behaviour is already illegal. Criminalising somebody’s presence based on WHO they are regardless of what they’ve done or what their intent is? That is utter authoritarian madness.
The law did fine in practice.

All the things you wouldn’t want are already illegal and will get cis people prosecuted and kicked out of spaces too (as they’re mostly done by cis people anyway!)

Didn’t have to wait long to find out, did we? Transphobing in the times at the weekend and now transphobing with the BBC today. She’s barely been out of her post for a week.
Considering how blatant they’ve both been with cosying up to Sex Matters while they were in post, I’m curious to see how they behave out of post.

i.e. if this them tethered what will they be like untethered? Or have they felt so confident recently that they haven’t felt tethered at all? We’ll see.

Absolutely amazing stuff.
In 2011 I was playing piano and singing background music for a wedding that was filmed for some show on UK Living. I did one song and the producer came over and asked me "not to play any more depressing songs like that..."

The song was Louis Armstrong's What A Wonderful World.
