Good god - the final “or” in that second paragraph really makes it explicit, doesn’t it? Drops all pretence of anything to do with sex based rights. That sentence explicitly says she’ll listen to you if you merely object to trans inclusivity on any level.
Does your organisation campaign for women's sex-based rights, or has it been forced to adopt policies regarding female-only spaces or trans inclusion that you fundamentally disagree with?

I woke up to see this article linked on the front page of BBC News. I am utterly sickened at the BBC’s continual contribution to rising transphobia in this country. I can sum up my objections: 1. Why is this national front page news? The only reason I can see is to generate outrage towards the trans community. This is a very small story - and the claim has been dropped. 2. Why is the demand for an apology presented uncritically? The claimant is quoted as saying the FA have proved her right - this is utter nonsense. Their recent decision to ban trans women does not amount to an acceptance that transphobia is ok. This isn’t even a grey area - the Supreme Court judgement was very clear that gender reassignment remains a protected characteristic under the equality act. 3. Why is this factor not given prominent space in the article? Where is the balance to explain that transphobia is still not ok - and the recent Supreme Court ruling doesn’t make it so. 4. Why is the BBC continually platforming anti trans views sympathetically? 5. Natalie Washington is quoted, presumably for balance, but the quote is one tiny paragraph that doesn’t actually get the chance to address the specific case. Why were no more balancing views included? 6. In this and other articles the BBC continues to refer to anti trans groups as women’s rights groups. This continues to present the picture that most women object to trans rights, which is not the case. These anti trans groups are not representative of women, as you should be aware - but presenting trans rights as an issue of women V trans rights is hugely damaging. Please do better. I am utterly sickened and disgusted at the ongoing hostility towards trans people in the UK. Your government is failing trans people in the worst possible way. First the dogmatic insistence that the Cass Review is a solid foundation for anything, and now enthusiastically embracing the most draconian interpretation of the Supreme Court ruling. Trans people are living in a state of constant fear and anxiety due to their abandonment by this government. And for what? To appease the right wing press? They’ll never be appeased. Trans people are going nowhere. However badly they are treated, they will still be here and will still campaign for their basic dignity. The only way to draw a line under what you clearly see as a thorny political issue is to show some leadership and use all the levers at your disposal to afford trans people the right to exist in peace and good health. Bigots will move on and find another target. Trans people don’t have the option to stop fighting for recognition.
