terraforming glitch
each night this undead planet
whispers in darkness

crazed hiss like secrets
our desires, greed and hubris
bloodiest curses

we rise as ghosts
can't believe in ourselves
or this next world

I’m going to share something beautiful everyday to combat The Endless Horrors, because my head is a glass jar filled with angry wasps, and I need something to keep me tethered to the here and now, that it’s still all worth it. Today’s pick is a short story by Rebecca Nakaba called “Umeboshi.”

When I get the first email I think it’s some sort of role-play, a scavenger hunt set up by the conference organizers for participants between presentations. I had only arrived that morning, a day afte...

Queer bookstores died in 2010. We had a funeral and everything!

Except... a ton of people decided to roll up their sleeves and start *new* queer bookshops, all over the place. In cities. In tiny towns.

My latest newsletter is about the rebirth of the LGBTQ bookshop:

Started listening to the audiobook of No Life Forsaken. Emma Gregory is a wonderful reader, as she was for the previous Malazan books she read.

My 3rd day at the Muskogee Public Library. I wrote 2 pages yesterday & 3 this morning. I'm here this week because I'm driving a family member with business downtown. Also, they're reading Daughters of Eris during breaks & finished Meteor Strike on Monday, so that's cool.
