Rory didn’t know much about music. He still listened to what his parents used to like, and they liked from before they were born. He didn’t know much about classical music at all, but some of the music in the game was beautiful.

Good enough for a #symphony. At least he thought it was.

It didn’t matter how organised the patrols were, they needed something more. Something undefinable. It wasn’t enough to fly in formation and attack together.

They needed grace, rhythm. To fly like the notes of a #symphony. Dylan needed them to to take that cacophony & make fighting beauty.

It was a #symphony of destruction and everyone lent their agonised screams to the ultimate harmony.

it’s blush faded, and it
burned the shit out of

That was a little thing that players would only notice if they rode into the glade. A little moment Rory had never seen anywhere else and the game continued to surprise him.

The horse became #spooked. Whinnying and tossing its head. Rory even remained mounted to just to see it once more.

Dylan returned to the staging area of the Olympia System to find his flight #spooked.

The Enemy had appeared, patrolled around the system, but hadn’t attacked. Something was about to happen and Dylan didn’t know what. An attack to come? A feint to gather forces there? He needed to know.

He'd been in the game for months and still hadn't gotten over the feeling of being watched, or hearing ghostly noises when working nights at the crematorium.
The tunes helped. Though he’d turned them off twice, sure he'd heard a knocking noise, like a sign from a past victim...

The game always played around with the fantasy setting, not only using the same tropes expected of the genre, but putting #oddballs, out-of-place situations and things in the narrative that shouldn’t work, but absolutely did.

Rory liked that the developers kept the players on their toes.

The talks came to an end with the #oddball conclusion that they would wait until after the systems-wide, traditional, Founders Day celebrations before making any decisions.
Because of course they did. Dylan shouldn’t have expected progress when stalling and complaining still had work to do.

#vss365 They hide amidst crowds, false faced & craving safety in numbers. Roam on cloudy days or at night, lest their wrongness be revealed by the monstrous shadows they cast.
No smiling eyes have they, save when the hunt begins. ...Following their #oddball, crooked steps. Always hunting them.

Rory was stumped, #clueless, which, considering he had been following clues to find this little hidden cave somewhere at the very tip of the region, was a little ironic.

There was something he needed to do to open the doors which wasn’t immediately obvious. He hoped it was in the book.

Dylan had never dealt with so many people, that had risen to such power as leading Factions, who were all, objectively, #clueless. They still didn’t understand what awaited them all.

Extinction. He told them, despite his own delegate trying to stop him. He told them flat out.

Extinction!
