it should probably be a bigger story that the richest man in the history of humanity is, objectively speaking, just a straight up Nazi

also the next democratic administration needs to throw him in prison

Exactly this. "I'll vote for whichever candidate has a D next to their name no matter what their actual policy positions are!" sends a message to the politicians that they don't need to care about what you want at all. It's wild that people keep volunteering their unconditional support.
It's like sitting down in a negotiation and telling the person you're trying to get something out of that you're going to agree to the deal, regardless of what they put on the table. Even if that were true, it is obviously a bad idea to tell them that!

A child dying of cancer spent her final days fighting to free her wrongfully detained father from ICE custody.

This comes just weeks after a mother from Maryland was denied the right to be at her son’s side as he died from cancer.

Not one dime for this cruelty.

We can't fall into right-wing populism’s lie that the most vulnerable in society are to blame for wealth inequality in our countries. We need to build movements that tell the truth: the story of wealth inequality is not a cultural one, but a class one.

As somebody who has worked on Wall Street for the last 19 years, I promise you that a lot of people who are insanely rich - not just average millionaires, people with true wealth - are dumb as dog shit, but just have no morals and know ways to make tons of money by not caring about hurting people.
Dumb and evil are not mutually exclusive and Elon is not a genius, or even an above average thinker. I have dealt with enough of these people directly to see their stupidity in action, not just reading about it on this website.
I am once again begging liberals to understand the difference between dumb (which they are not) and evil (which they are).

Do people like Elizabeth truly not grasp this? You are *paid to observe people*!!! How much more do you need to see?

While MLPS was a victory, moral and tangibly, for ICE resisters, don't call it 'a retreat.' The dystopia is just getting started

Thousands of new agents. 150 new offices in every state. And the nationwide gulag archipelago. The fight has just begun

No, ICE isn’t ‘retreating.’ It’s loading up to invade your town. | Will Bunch
A much-hyped ICE pullback from Minneapolis is a blip in a looming nationwide surge of arrests, concentration camps.

Literal Nazi shit
This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

Seeing everyday Americans value their neighbors, dig down for the “great American melting pot,” enjoy and connect with people around them regardless of their differences, fills me with determination.
Musk is a malevolent force in American life, driven by white nationalism and incredibly influential given his obscene wealth. He's a supervillain.

But people get that. He's deeply unpopular, with an approval rating in the mid-30s with Trump. We just need political leaders willing to take him on.
We must speak plainly about the agenda Elon Musk & other MAGA leaders are pushing. It’s white nationalism.

There’s no room for Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, Native, Jewish or all other Americans in Musk’s monocultural vision.

Multiculturalism is superior. We can’t allow Musk & others to end it.

Many people in South Africa, where Elon is from, died to create a genuinely multiracial polity. They were killed by people who thought like Elon.

The people who thought like Elon also lost. Seems their “common culture” of white supremacy wasn’t enough.

1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.

you know, i think this last bit is pretty subtle and confusing but important:

LLMs aren’t computers.
i don’t know really, but it did take a supercomputer to beat a chess grandmaster so clearly computing power is in effect at some kind of work

but LLMs of course do none of that, and also can’t do basic math, bc they’re not “computers” just chatbots on computers
