Saying that German Basic Law is modeled on the US constitution does such a disservice to the work done by the Parliamentary Council in 1949. It's some of the most beautiful constitutional writing ever

Yeah exactly, framing the bombs as a great question of morality, balancing factors, with an understanding of the consequences is anachronistic at best, but crucial in keeping atomic bombings are beyond the scope of normal activity.

Truman did a lot of myth making after the fact about the "decision." He was not closely involved in the process at all, nor did he consider some of the factors he later said he did. But those, along with his later actions in Korea, helped establish the Nuclear Taboo.
This is no doubt true, but it worries me. In some ways, the human race got extremely lucky to develop atomic bombs when and how we did. They were ready at just the right time to end a war, to create the myth of the power of the bomb, followed by a long period of cold war competition.

Wild that pretty much every modern writing system derives from hieroglyphs except Chinese and Japanese. Even the Mongol alphabet comes from there.
(Korea is also kind of an exception, their King just got really into Conlanging one time and it got out of hand.)
