Lots of things aren't as they seem in life. The inside of Avanti trains are definitely as colourful as the outside of this one. Best thing to do: just take the artwork off the train. Leave them plain and boring.

Nice shoes! Back when eurostar started, there was no high-speed line between London and the Channel Tunnel so we had to use the "classic" network and the 750 volt third rail system. This limited the power and speed obviously. Heard it described as using a Ferrari to go to the corner shop...

A Railway 200 sign put up at Long Eaton (formerly Sawley Junction) which looks really nice in the planters. There’s a lot more traffic under that bridge now… Last night being no exception as there was problems northbound on the M1!

Seems like installing AI just to tick a box rather than actually for any real benefit… Or because someone has a good sales pitch. Either way: it’s a waste of money which as @steroumel.bsky.social says could be used on better things
Just read that the Athenian Metro Authority (STASY) will install AI cameras in Acropolis Station to measure the effect of fare evaders. This might be the worst choice, as most of the passengers there are tourists and I don’t believe they will want to evade, there are gates everywhere.

I owe you updates on this one: since all alternatives were full and the only choice was upgrading to 1st class for a hefty sum, my friend decided to refund her ticket a book a (cheaper) flight instead. Just for going from Paris to Amsterdam.

Asking for a friend: Eurostar train gets cancelled (well in advance, the booking is in a month) and they can offer a refund or rebook for an additional cost… aren’t they supposed to rebook for no additional cost on another connection?!
