The latter option means taking out seats on existing trains. But it would be a good idea to have more than one on new build trains going forward. Might mean that trains need to add an extra carriage, but extra capacity isn't a bad thing - and it would mean more space for the mobility impaired.

Things have got significantly better over the last 25 years on the network, especially for those with varying levels of mobility. It isn't perfect: nothing is. But what do we do if the accessible toilet is out of order? Cancel the whole train? Or change regulations to make every toilet accessible?
