🚅🇮🇹 A second section of Italy's latest high speed/capacity railway opens.

Trains now running on a 18km stretch of the 150km, €6Bn, Naples-Bari line.
It has 4km tunnel, 8km viaduct & closes 13 level crossings.

It’s never ‘too often’ for Trenitalia to change branding.

Today it’s the turn of flagship Frecciarossa 1000 trains to have a new logo.
The old ‘FS’ & Trenitalia logo has been dropped, as on to the new green & yellow Regionale livery.
Sinistra: old. Destra: new.

Recent storms breached railways in Sicily.
Now Italy's west coast mainline linking Naples with Reggio Calabria is under threat.
At Paola the sea is now only metres from the railway. Just one storm from being severed.

🚞 Thought my local cathederal Montevergine, Avellino only famous for 2nd steepest funicular in Europe.
🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 But at Candlemas, Feb 2, it's the only Catholic church to celebrate LGBTQ+ identity.
2 lovely news reports of the occasion.
Can't imagine how UK press would cover trans/gay/drag in the pulpit...
