Quelle surprise. Thank goodness Bernard looks at the facts behind the PR lies from the PM.

“..a bunch of dirty old men started bullying her. Spreading salacious, baseless, downright creepy rumours about her. And not even bothering to hide it. Sending all staff emails about it.”

And those men - some not so old - still sit at Council tables & got rewarded for that filthy behaviour. #nzpol
Tory Whanau isn’t leaving - she was hounded out
Opinion: As all the emails and filthy gossip came out, it’s been patently, toe-curlingly, nauseatingly obvious to every young woman what’s been happening.

Mike Hosking is wrong about the results of the UK Covid Inquiry this morning. The inquiry found an earlier lockdown could have saved 23k lives. It did find that "stringent restrictions short of a mandatory lockdown" if imposed earlier could have avoided a lockdown – which is diff from "unnecessary".

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

idk how this is happening but even as statements like 'israel is committing genocide' are becoming more and more acceptable to say in public by people in positions of power, it feels like concern and support for palestinians keeps declining and shouldn't it be the other way around??

Flip Grater has nailed it.

Exactly this. This is both an act of deliberate cruelty towards a marginalised, vulnerable community and a trial balloon to see how far they can push, and how fast.
(Going by the last two years and the pace and volume of erosion, and active targeting of vulnerable people - very far, and very fast.)

Let's be clear: this is not a 'scandalette'. This is a Minister of the Crown taking $27m allocated for one vote (housing) and spending it on another IN HIS OWN ELECTORATE. Amazing how Tory reporters can minimise this when it suits them.
