Finally going back to the library today. Building still doesn't have heat (just space heaters and blowers), so we're open shortened hours and working 2 hour shifts.

Guess he got the after dark shift, which will be the coldest? That's right. The baddest bitch in the stacks.

It is very, very important to remember that YOU DID THIS. You, the people, through an organized mass movement of working people, pushed back on fascism and made the government blink.

No politician did this. A few helped, but this happened because of you, and your political actions. KEEP IT UP.
None of these Republicans and most of these Democrats are not all of a sudden “seeing the light on ICE.” They simply understand the worm turning on public opinion and saving face. They will ALL go back to voting for minority brutalization as soon as they can. You can’t keep falling for this.

Do not let the Democrats claim an easy victory here. They are just waiting for an excuse to go back to business as usual, a kinder, gentler ICE that does its evil work quietly where you can’t see but still shatters millions of families. Don’t let them do it. Tell them ABOLISH ICE NOW or get fucked.

I've been off work for two weeks and today I had to work from home.

I really need to go back to the library so I stop doing shit like eating puppy chow from a cup with chopsticks.

Blog Post: Poem--"Drug Problem"

Everything is terrible and my terrible poetry won't help, but at least it's on theme.

Poem: “Drug Problem”
The return of terrible poetry coincides with the continuation of terrible times. There is a tightrope that I feel like many of us walk when it comes to being well-informed, being aware, being curre…

Despite the below zero windchill, I cleared out my driveway, the sidewalk, and the approach of my neighbor's driveway with the snowblower.

Not the way I wanted to spend my last day of vacation, but at least I didn't have to shovel it.

I remain absolutely furious that all this shit in Minneapolis started because a barely-literate homeschooled mormon made a video trying to run up in daycare centers trying to find people of Somalian descent doing fraud despite the ringleader (a white woman) being in jail since March. Demonic.

The people who'll tell you today's murder victim in Minnesota shouldn't have turned up to a protest carrying a gun are the same people who said Kyle Rittenhouse was perfectly entitled to do the same thing.

At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

Thinking of the good people of Minnesota today - solidarity forever.

If you're as far away from MN as I am, and if you're able, maybe look around on the Stand With Minnesota site to see where you might be able to help today?

When I see you “playing around with” ChatGPT “for fun” this is what I see you contributing to btw. It’s not cute, it’s not fun, it’s damaging. Just because you don’t personally see it doesn’t mean there’s no cost.
I’m sharing this video again because people don’t really get what these data centers and ai are doing to our planet and our communities. Especially Black communities because they were strategically placed there.

I need you to listen to these people.

I am back on T&TVC for another discussion of S1 Gunsmoke. We are halfway through the season... and still talking.
@dannyslacks1.bsky.social and I break down these episodes, recommend Dodge City's best hotel, and pitch a spinoff series where Doc is "Judge, Doctor, and Executioner".

So working as designed then.
I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.
