I am back on T&TVC for another discussion of S1 Gunsmoke. We are halfway through the season... and still talking.
@dannyslacks1.bsky.social and I break down these episodes, recommend Dodge City's best hotel, and pitch a spinoff series where Doc is "Judge, Doctor, and Executioner".

Just came back from seeing FACKHAM HALL at the Burbank Mall. It was hilarious. Laugh a minute. Actually, probably more than one a minute. The closest to a ZAZ film I have seen in years. (I have not yet seen the remade NAKED GUN.)

For DAY 339 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I went with another made for cable thriller, Deadly Love. This Lifetime Original stars Susan Dey as a lonely vampire who falls in love with the police detective investigating a murder she committed

For DAY 333 of my year long retrospective on made for TV movies that need a DVD/Blu Ray release, I chose Nowhere to Run (1978), a drama about a man who fakes his own death to start a new life & begins by devising a system to make his fortune playing blackjack. David Janssen is terrific (as always)

If we cover HOW AWFUL ABOUT ALLAN again, I want to refer to it as HAAA! #TVMParty

Hey, we made it.

Thanks to everyone who sat down and watched How Awful About Allan with us. It's a good one, and really works as an early marker for the kind of classic and gothic beats most of Curtis Harrington's telefilm work would lean into.

Plus, Joan Hackett. ❤️

#TVMParty Thanks for joining us everyone! Allan may be awful, but he looks good in powder blue. Happy Holidays!

Joan Hackett would become a familiar face in the made for TV genre movie and appeared in some great films, including Five Desperate Women, Reflection of Murder, Dead of Night and The Possessed

I love her. Did I mention that?

If this were a modern-day movie, a dark shape would have shot up out of the blurriness and we would have cut to black in that last shot. #TVMParty

The fire in the kitchen was started by one of four things: 1) a Jawa 2) A scrunched up Phantasm person 3) one of the DON"T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK things or 4) Julie Harris. #TVMParty

I'm glad this aired in a 90-minute timeslot. The length is just right. At the moment I started to lose it a bit, he gets locked in the closet with fire. What!? Allan! #TVMParty

The fall on the pavement hurts... and then raspy Eric shows up. Allan is having a bad day. His 475th in a row. #TVMParty

Allan hiding behind the couch is delightfully absurd. How Awful About Allan... he's terrible at Hide and Seek. #TVMParty

I'm intrigued by Allan's pajamas. #TVMParty

OK, let's do a Curtis Harrington TVM Poll. I'll leave a thread of his telefilms and you just like the post with your favorite film!

How Awful About Allan's screenwriter Henry Farrell was best known as a novelist and shortly before his death had completed A Piece of Clarisse, which is about a man receiving a woman’s body parts in the mail! It is still unpublished, which feels criminal to me.
