The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

This is particularly nuts because it's not even just like tongue-in-cheek exaggeration. It's just not true. My feed last night was filled with people yelling about the Dems caving.

I hate that we're supposed to trudge through year after year after year acting like we don't already know the most effective solutions to social problems because some people don't like it. We know the best way to treat homelessness, addiction, crime, poverty, hunger, and bigotry but won't do it.

Don't agree to anything ever. They will go back on any deal. Anyone they promise to fire (Vought, Miller) will be brought back immediately to troll Dems for falling for any deal yet again. Until Trump is gone, there's no reason to trust Congress on anything. These 10 months have been so telling.

My food situation is critical. I'm completely out of food, hungry, freezing, and in severe pain. The stress and pain are overwhelming, and I can't stop crying. I urgently need to get groceries today. Any mutual aid helps me eat. Thank you.

Idk, if that were me, I feel like I'd have included a pic of smiling cops with kids in costumes or something, not one that evokes a threatening image like the cops are about to arrest your kids

I'm curious what would qualify as being unable to help oneself if they refuse to believe that's the case for the people who have been designated as requiring help under the current system

I’ve been regularly volunteering at a food bank for about a year and please, if you want to help, consider donating cash.
For $3, they can provide 15 meals and what they can do with the money you might spend on a few cans can be converted to vastly more in fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, or meat.

The ChatGPT subreddit is absolutely hilarious. LLMs just output statistically likely responses, and a statistically likely response to being asked to do some work is "I'll have that done by...". So apparently in some cases ChatGPT had just been telling users it'll get back to them later.

Begging people in blue states to recognize that we don't live in some safe haven. Besides the obvious, many blue states are only blue due to one or two increasingly unaffordable dense population centers, with lots of red or purple areas in the rest of it.
As a white person, if you think telling MILLIONS of Black people in the south to simply MOVE AWAY to a “blue state” is not only going to SPARE them any suffering in this country but is even financially feasible for everyone, please put a bag over your head and breathe deep.
