The last gaps of the old broken system that protected their power & wealth.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Zohran and Polanski are mobilising a new type of progressive politics. One where governments work for the majority, not the wealthy minority. Where politics isn’t something done to you, but something we do together. Where hope beats millions spent on misinformation and fear.

Make hope normal again.
Zohran's campaign was his determination to make New York a city everyone can afford to live in. Huge congratulations!

His success will resonate throughout the world. A story where no one is left behind.

It's time to write that story across England & Wales too.

We had a NATO coalition and tens of thousands of troops in Afghanistan for 20 years and never managed to stop the cultivation of opium.

I have no idea what sort of brain damage the Trump administration has that makes them think they’re going to drone strike their way into ending cocaine use.

Does Robert Jenrick even realise English clubs were banned from playing in any European football competitions after May 1985 for the rest of the decade, returning only in 1990/91, after Heysel disaster, as UEFA + our government felt fans couldn't be policed safely travelling away?

it's kinda weird that all the software i am expected to use for work are all written by distributed teams, go, python, postgres, linux, chrome, k8s etc

and despite being told "the best teams work in an office together" i don't know of any software i use that's actually written that way

Jenrick could have visited Handsworth to listen to residents – he chose to pass through and make a judgement based on the colour of their skin. Instead of getting to know our nation of neighbours, he chose racism.

The Tories, Reform and Labour want to divide us.

The Greens say enough is enough.

I turn on my TV and a TV presenter is asking a Govt minister why they are talking about rolling out free childcare when the big issue is asylum hotels. This is objectively insane.

The UK Prime Minister lives inside a right wing echo chamber. After 14 years of pure shit, this is what we've been served. Astonishing stuff.
So, they are going to share the locations of where highly vulnerable individuals live with firms which have suffered massive data breaches? Hmm, what could possibly go wrong.

Britain pays wind farms to turn off when it’s windy and overpays gas plants to switch on instead. It'll cost bill payers up to £8b/yr by 2030. Zonal energy pricing would slash this.

We’ve started tracking this (avoidable) waste live on our site: octopus.energy

🧵 @jcbslide.bsky.social 's reply reflects a common but crucial misunderstanding: that democracy simply is civil liberties and fair procedures. But rights alone don’t guarantee democratic legitimacy. What matters is whether the public can meaningfully participate in truth, power, and accountability.
Our Democracy is freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and the right to a fair trial. Eliot, what about democracy needs to be changed? The consent of the governed? Separation of powers? Private ownership & capitalism maybe? Don’t back seat drive. Share.
It's not that politics is being done wrong, it's that democracy is being done wrong. If he don't fix the latter, the former just becomes performance.

The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world.
They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

So, to be clear, Musk has now admitted he funded a man he believes to be a pedophile to be president.

And Trump has now admitted that he gave access to high level government secrets to a man he believes to be a big time drug addict.

This should be *the* story on the Sunday shows tomorrow.
Trump called Musk "a big-time drug addict" in a phone call shortly after their public feud. (WaPo)
