People who draw a false equivalence between leftism and fascism are fascism enablers. There isn't even a colorable good faith argument for the equivalence. At best, it reflects colossal stupidity.

Why aren’t more politicians talking like this?

Granted, we’ve decimated partnership with out closest allies but the US is a terrible option if we value our health, public institutions and the last few grains of democracy we have left.

A maniacal oligarchy never plays fair.
Grand state visits and warm words count for little if tech deals are frozen and trade talks threaten our farmers, public health and animal welfare. What are we actually gaining?

100% this. GDP is not the ultimate goal. A healthy, flourishing, equal, compassionate society in balance with its ecosystem is the goal.

Our political class have forgotten this - cajoled by think tanks, donors and “the city”.

A country can have an excellent GDP and be terrible to live in.
🗨 "Our economic model is trashing the planet and it isn't even doing much for the poorest people either." @carolinelucas.bsky.social speaking on The Rest Is Politics podcast.

🟩 It's time to do things differently - let's focus on wellbeing, instead of GDP growth at any cost.

People detest Starmer because they detest the status quo of cruelty, austerity and deep inequality.

He was brought in on a mandate to change that.

Instead, he has championed more of the same. And the promise he betrayed is why people detest him.

This really should be given more attention to balance the insanity on this topic.

Plenty of women recognise how ludicrous the current debate is, and how it’s detracting from real and tangible treats to women and girls.

“reject the weaponisation of our identities to justify discrimination”
We are now at 75k signatures, with many messages of support on Instagram, Facebook and here.

This is a genuine groundswell of love over hate, and a call to focus on the real harms faced by women and girls.

Thank you all who’ve signed and shared. Let’s keep it going 💜

UK parties, take note.

This is what leadership looks like.

Serious question - what on earth is the point of the billions we spend on the military and defence if we ultimately just to resort to forcing school kids onto the front lines with AK47s?

Why on earth are we settling for the dross that makes up our political establishment when we can be voting for real leaders like Rachel.

I want the UK to be famous for its kindness, compassion and dignity - not for its cruelty, spite and racial hatred.

There is another way.
Cannot stop thinking about the people I met in Calais. They deserve so much better.

Surprise surprise.

The angry troll tweeting on Christmas Day turns out to have been, quite literally, hoisted by his own petard.

We really, really deserve better than this joke of a government - and their morally-adjacent rivals.

"Reed being let loose as a Christmas Day attack dog shows how worried Labour have become about Polanski and the Green Party,”

Really awkward for Steve Reed that it just drew lots of attention to the unlawful hacking of a website!

The point is the outrage.

Whatever the cause, whatever the hypocrisy, whoever gets hurt or victimised.

Keep them angry, keep them clicking, keep them ready to vote for a darker world they’re told is the light.

Finally we have a political party willing to challange the stagnation of the last 46 years brought on by relying on the 'market' to know best and 'trickle down economics' both of which made the rich fabulously richer and the other 97٪ poorer!
No wonder Starmer's shower are scared!
If Labour were not worried about @zackpolanski.bsky.social and the increasing Green surge, it would be studiously ignoring them.

The fact that they are even attacking him on Christmas Day tells you they are getting desperate.
