*This is a post for teachers in and around London.*

UCL is looking for schools who would be interested to find out more about the new Secondary Maths Teacher Degree Apprenticeship.

We have loads of students looking for a place but need more schools to work with us & employ them. /1
Very funny…also excellent use of alt text… 😂😂

Cambridge folks…I have been hosting a comedy night since August last year and figure it’s time to break cover and come out publicly 😬.

It’s on the third Tuesday of the month and you would be most welcome…it has a loose science and politics theme night because…well, you’ve see my posts 😂

To celebrate #ValentinesDay I have invented a new type of graph: the heartbreak chart. It is a proportional representation showing inequality between two variables - here is an example showing women vs men CEOs of UK FTSE350 companies (2025). What do you think?

So kinda the same point @zackpolanski.bsky.social has been making for ages and getting crucified for by the ‘sensibles’
UK must move away from US and towards a 'more European NATO', Keir Starmer to say at defence summit

I’m not an expert but this seems suggestive of either an anxiety disorder or internalised prejudice/expectation bias …what it definitely isn’t is evidence of London being unsafe
Nadhim Zahawi thinks London is now unsafe, because the other day a tired-looking man walked past him during the morning rush hour.

Good news…but it’s still illegal to show support for Palestine Action despite the ruling because the government plans to appeal…so be careful everyone.
A court has ruled that the government's authoritarian ban on Palestine Action was unlawful.

Time to stop criminalising the people protesting a genocide - and start ending the UK's complicity.

Dear BBC sports commentators: your misogyny is showing in your repeated references to Bruce Mouat ‘being happy to be back with his boys’ & playing better now he’s ’with the lads.’ The implication being that a man playing his professional sport professionally with a *woman* is distracting.

But will we get to the point where any of the following get noticed:

1) the forde report
2) ‘the labour files’ documentary
3) the book ‘the fraud’*

*some of 3) is getting a little bit of noticing but not too much…
It’s not quite November 2021 levels of Noticing Things* but Things are centrally being Noticed

I always find that when someone tells me that I am strong and united it is definitely a straightforward statement of fact and not, for example, a sign of someone desperately trying to hold everything together while being totally out of their depth…
🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer told his Cabinet that they were "strong and united" this morning

"The Prime Minister said that the whole of the Labour Party wants Anas Sarwar to become First Minister and will fight for a Labour Government in Scotland"
February 10, 2026 at 4:56 PM
He’s such a weasel 😂

Probably Prime Minister Weasel come May when the press work to get their chosen one in to replace Starmer after the local elections
“Let’s give Keir that chance. Let him set out how he’s going to lead us forward” says Health Secretary Wes Streeting

A good reminder from @billybragg.bsky.social about what Starmer once pretended to be - always worth remembering he threw this all away and managed to get fewer votes than Corbyn

How access journalism works.

Every political editor/correspondent falls in love with the SpAd who provides them with scoops.

Until, inevitably with McBride/Timothy/Cummings/McSweeney, the SpAd's demise becomes the next scoop.

Rinse and repeat.

Ad nauseam

Given the content of these messages its feels like Starmer hasn’t really been left with a choice but to reshuffle Streeting to the backbenches…he’s voluntarily put in the public domain evidence of him chatting with the famous paedo’s mate about how shit the govt he is part of is…baffling stuff!
BREAKING: As if today hasn’t been fraught enough Wes Streeting has just published his private WhatsApp messages with Peter Mandelson in an apparent attempt to draw a line under their friendship

This is incredibly funny to try because even if it *was* true, then it would mean Streeting was defending Mandleson in September for the love of the game.

Work life balance is a nonsense says wealthy man who can pick and choose exactly what he want to do and also has his trips funded by wealthy donors and crypto-scammers
BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance

"People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense”

Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM!

Because she can’t run for leadership until HMRC finish checking her tax affairs and give her a clean bill of health… best case for Rayner is the Starmer clings on until May
Angela Rayner backs PM

Breaking…steve reed was part of the McSweeney led Labour Together crew who picked Starmer in the first place…so of course he backs him…

So much noticing happening, so little time!

It is deeply depressing watching the media continuously go through cycles of ignoring massive malfeasance and corruption to put their guy in charge &then, when the narrative changes manically start reporting things that were in the public domain all along
a reminder that Tim Allan, who quit Starmer's Downing St today, previously spun for....not only Kazakhstan and Qatar but also Vladimir Putin’s government

I think we can say there’s definitely Noticing Things going on now, at the BBC. You might have got this stuff piecemeal here and there but now they’re just laying it out in blunt terms.

Keir Starmer's spokesman won't say why his Comms Director Tim Allan resigned, when Starmer first knew he was resigning, or whether he asked him to step down.

Also won't say whether evidence has been found suggesting an ongoing relationship between Allan and Mandelson
February 9, 2026 at 12:31 PM
Continuity Mandleson at that too…
Streeting might be a very different beast to Starmer, but he feels like the continuity candidate. That doesn’t feel like a strength in these circumstances.
