I definitely ruined it by speaking up about misogyny, ableism, management sycophancy and sexual harassment.
If only I had just kept my goddamn mouth shut and let the men keep on doing whatever they wanted. What a spoilsport.

So “inclusion” is reduced to representation: a few new examples or texts, while the deeper question - who decides what counts as knowledge - is never asked.

I am so tired of living in a world where constantly are told ‘organisations/people cannot do x’ and then, when asked what happens if they do, being met with bafflement and silence. In my experience, organisations and people ABSOLUTELY DO X and we are not able to hold them to account

Currently on a training day in #AI ‘in action’ in universities. Trainer told everyone to use AI to write recommendation letters for students. People who receive these letters (jobs, grants, admissions)- what is it like receiving them? Do you notice or care if they are AI-generated?

One curious thing on this site about speaking out against the encroachment of LLMs is that inevitably you get accused of being anti-tech. I don’t hate technology. I’ve used machine learning in my own code before. But I also recognize that oligarchs are so hellbent on pushing this tech for a reason.
