The American mind cannot comprehend this.
Celsius is the scientist temperature measurement in that it’s the most conceptually coherent , Fahrenheit is the engineer temperature measurement in that it’s actually optimized to be useful for it’s main use case of communicating everyday temperatures.

Imagine even having a day to celebrate your Head of State. Oh wait, we have the King's Birthday holiday. Never mind.

Remember Agent Cooper in Twin Peaks sending Audrey home??? That remains a refreshingly kind and decent scene that we see shockingly rarely in media of any kind, then and now. Like, Jesus, be an adult and read the room re: the impact and consequences.

Americans shut the fuck up about Farenheit being more "useful" challenge. I get that you understand it but to the rest of the world, it's completely incoherent.

Paying for blood just boggles my mind, but yes of course you'd sell your blood to make ends meet.
Is this the “golden age” economy we’ve heard so much about?

Every day I accomplish not using ChatGPT for work or to make garbage memes or illustrated portraits of myself, but more and more people seem to be falling for it.

This would be, in every way, worse than a Netflix-WB deal. No point in preserving the integrity of the theatrical experience for a company funded by a right-wing ideologue. I don't believe there's a world in which Larry Ellison funds One Battle or Sinners. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/15/b...

One Nation, Liberals, Labor, they are all the same. They refuse to take on corporate power, refuse to invest in public housing and essential public goods, then play politics with immigration to divide and distract us.

If the transfer to B4 means he "didn't die" then the only emotional weight of the whole movie is void. And if downloading Data's memory into another body means he can "never die" it renders his whole journey to become human meaningless.

This is going to go really badly and cannot be properly justified and everyone will be doing it within a couple of years.
(5/11) Walmart, Whole Foods, and Kohls are switching to electronic shelf labels that can display dynamic prices. Kroger deployed them with Microsoft AI—a setup a 2024 Senate inquiry warned could enable “surge pricing” via facial recognition. (Kroger claims it will only lower prices.)

Fascinated by the discussion around the sex scene in 1x06: the words gratuitous and graphic are thrown around and this doesn't make any sense. It grows the characters' relationship, sets up a plot point for later and never shows anything other than Tarima's back and Caleb's chest. #StarfleetAcademy

Based on what we learned from Tarima last week, I firmly believe Deltans in Starfleet take oaths of celibacy because everyone else finds the whole "family bathes you in milk and then you have to sing to them" situation a bit embarrassing.
The Deltans' strong sexual presence and preferences, referenced in #StarfleetAcademy's "Come, Let's Away"⬆️, go all the way back to "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"⬇️, its novelization (written by Gene Roddenberry) and Star Trek: Phase II pre-production material.

The 1977 Spider-Man film that was released in cinemas outside the US
Have asked this before and always like the responses. What are your biggest “I saw that in the first run cinema” flexes? Couple of mine:

Transformers: The Movie (1986)
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993)
Office Space (1999)
