Reintroduction now that we're all determined to move here: I'm a playwright & theatre critic. I'd love to find more theatre nerds here!

Big fan of Twin Peaks, Star Trek and film/TV in general.

Recently holidayed in Canada with a side quest to Bangor, reigniting my love of Stephen King.
I don't trust Warner Bros with this one little bit.

Using phones as a scapegoat for rhetoric that is spewed by governments, sporting bodies and hateful authors is just ridiculous. Acting as if banning phones is the magic bullet is a total abdication of thought, real action and responsibility.
Brianna Ghey was not murdered in cold blood by a phone. Or a social media app. She was murdered in cold blood with knives plunged into her 28 times by two 15-year-olds fed a constant stream of hate and dehumanization by UK corporate media and the UK government.
Two teenagers were radicalized by the transphobic political climate into seeing a 15 year old girl as less than human. They killed the girl, and then the girl's grieving mother chose to embark on a moral panic crusade against "self-harm", acquitting the actual perpetrators of her daughter's demise.

This is ridiculous. There's no real continuity between the films of different actors. Just start again. Introduce him again as has been done a half dozen times before.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

A fun fact is that when the full text of The Iliad was found (the Ottomans had it, ofc) during the Renaissance, a lot of people were dismayed to find it was a devastating critique of warfare and masculinity.

Musk is a mass murderer on a scale with some of the worst monsters of history, so it's not really like the scales are evened by having a moderately well known author eviscerate him on his own platform.

still, you take what you can get.

Nuremburg trials is the moderate position
He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

OSCAR ISAAC, on whether he'd return to "Star Wars":

".. Yeah. I mean, I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great."

I don't even live that close, but that fucking bar noise travels and it's slowly poisoning our democracy, too.
"Why do you talk about American politics so much? You're Canadian?"

If I lived next to a noisy bar I'd probably talk about the noisy bar a lot too

Australian talkback radio host John Laws has died.

Hey, do you remember when Laws accused his rival of being a homosexual as a way to slander him?

Or the time he called a gay personality a "pillow biter" and "pompous little pansy prig"

Or when he said a sexual abuse victim was 'rape baiting'

Finished season two of Nobody Wants This recently and though it felt a bit more like a sitcom this season, I still enjoyed it a lot. Shame it's only eight episodes, though.
