Elites are saying Alex Pretti was murdered. But have they considered whether that message is appealing to voters? And have they confronted the fact that many people have not been murdered?

Crazy how Trump's lawyers have never seen anything Trump has ever said or done.
Judge Menendez asks about Trump's quote: "Your day of retribution is here." She asks what she's supposed to do with that.

Mayers says he hasn't seen that Truth Social post.

I think @sarahjeong.bsky.social said it's because they devalue women's labor and a LOT of this Scary Logistics stuff comes from people who don't understand that basically all of the civic life they enjoy is created with the help of free labor, largely by women.
Tho I will say, in his defense, he's not the first person to be confused by how quickly the romance authors & readers can whip up finely tuned logistics out of nothing. 😂
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

Should be noted that the fabulous woman in question is a rage baker, with a long history of doing cakes like this when something has pissed her off. Genuinely one of my favorite people.
My sister in Seattle made this cake for Minnesota. She says the flavor is "chocolate, caramel, rage."

Phone number on the left is the Senate/House switchboard. Call it.

This was never about immigration or fraud. It was always about rigging elections.

I've said this a thousand times at this point, but it's just neighbors helping neighbors! That's it! We don't like it when members of our community are in danger, so we work together to offer them food and comfort and safety, as best we can

It's how we get through winter and how we get through this

Filming ICE is an act of journalism. Cell phone footage is vital source material for reporters who can’t be everywhere at once.

Shooting, killing and other targeting of those documenting news is an attack on press freedom and all else that's good in the world.
Videos show federal agents killing Minneapolis man
Some details of federal government’s account of the shooting aren’t supported by footage captured by bystanders.

I’m sure this has nothing to do with the SS-lite DHS social media channels.
Bovino: "When politicians, community leaders, & some journalists engage in that heated rhetoric we keep talking about, when they make the choice to vilify law enforcement calling law enforcement 'Gestapo' or using the term 'kidnapping,' that is a choice & there are actions & consequences."

Strength in numbers. Strength in community. Keep helping your neighbors.
3. Right now our biggest margin of safety is the fact that there are many thousands of us, and encouraging people to get involved just makes it harder for them to arrest, detain, harass, or murder us. There is strength in numbers. There is strength in united resolve.

Things are so bad that the Minnesota prison system has had to launch a website specifically to combat DHS lies. The first major release from DOC officials suggests Gregory Bovino outright lied about the target of the Border Patrol operation during which agents shot and killed Alex Pretti.

Akiva points out one of the glimmers of hope here: this administration has utterly lost the presumption of regularity, at least among honest judges.

It may be that DoJ will never recover it, which, as a defense lawyer, I think is not a bad thing.
Understand that 370 days ago even bringing a motion like this would probably have been treated as sanctionably frivolous

Today it was granted ex parte

Patel is lying about the law as it is traditionally understood, as it is written. He’s telling the truth about law under Trumpism: you only have a right if they deign to acknowledge it; you have no right to do anything they don’t want you to do.
Kash Patel: "You cannot bring a firearm, loaded, with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It's that simple. You don't have a right to break the law." (Pretti was carrying a gun legally.)

WHENEVER we act together people who themselves are unimaginative and politically impoverished claim some underground cabal. I've been accused of similar in my shared governance work and sexual harassment work. It's always just a Signal chat of do-gooders with silly pseudonyms.
It's the PTO moms and spreadsheet dads and other random-ass Minnesotans concerned for their neighbors. There is no one central organizing org, just a ton of people who give a shit. It's both beautiful that it's happening and laughable that anyone thinks there's some broader apparatus at work.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

Who in their right mind believes statements from the Department of Homeland Security?

Who believes anything Kristi Noem or Stephen Miller or Trump might say about what has just happened in Minneapolis?

They no longer have any credibility. That should be clear by now.

They lie like they breathe.
