A White-breasted Nuthatch striking the classic nuthatch pose. These birds have an extra strong hind toe that allows them to scoot downwards face-first.

This rules. Good for these churches
In Chicago, a Nativity scene features a zip-tied baby Jesus and Roman centurions in "ICE" vests.

Near Boston, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus are absent from a Nativity scene, replaced with a sign reading "ICE was here."

It's all part of growing religious blowback to ICE. religionnews.com/2025/12/05/i...
ICE Nativity scenes: Churches reimagine Christmas story amid deportations
(RNS) — 'We know that Jesus was born into a Roman imperial occupation, and pretty much immediately becomes a refugee in Egypt, has to flee and faces political violence,' the Rev. Michael Woolf said.

The Saint Louis Art Museum has stepped-up with Anselm Kiefer’s ‘Becoming the Sea’ exhibit. I haven’t read any reviews yet but these large scale mixed media paintings 2021 - 25 are other worldly. Some are over 32 ft tall. As a fair weather fan of his past installations, these paintings are epic! #art

I shit talk AI on the regular but there are MANY cool neat things it could do for us when well applied. So much conflation of targeted scientific applications of LLMs and AI models with using chatgpt to write poetry and it simply does not help anything
We could save soooo many lives but people are so caught up in their reactionary moral panic nonsense

The attack on vaccines by the bad actors who are running amok in the U.S. government will result in the following:

1. Substantial reduction in vaccine access

2. Significantly increased vaccine-preventable disease

3. Significantly increased pediatric deaths

4. A witch hunt for a “cover up”.

Super cool and promising news, and this person explains the importance very well!
GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.

Post Thanksgiving weekends always trend towards sloth for me anyways and I simply don’t think I can make it past the inertia in these conditions
I was going to do my daily walk but the sound of winds smashing something icy into my windows has made me think how maybe I should wait until I won’t be pelted with hard objects. #stlwx

Any time corporate executives are in a room together and don't know they're being recorded, the transcript is like: "Christ, I hate our customers. We're agreed that we all hate our customers? Let's lie to the IRS, criminally. Did I mention the Holocaust never happened? Put more lead in our soda."
