if i could give one broad direction to people: stop being afraid of doing something. take some initiative. find a group near you. pick up the boxes that need hauling. bring food. take out the trash.

see a need that is unmet? get some friends together and do the thing.

organize your niche.

Now I'm no big city white shoe political analyst here or anything but this one very weird super problematic Dem doing something is, according to bsky interaction metrics, bonkers popular if idk any other Dems on this website are into being, like, liked maybe they could try this, too
"ICE is out of control and beyond reform. We must fundamentally change the way we approach immigration: it’s time to abolish ICE."

See, Dems? You can actually say it, and even draft legislation about it! It's possible to do!

yesterday in a meeting we had the icebreaker: if you could be summoned via cauldron ritual, what 3 ingredients would summon you?
1) French fries, 2) bourbon, 3) high-quality wool yarn

The moment demands this of you.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.

Mariame Kaba said to do a small act of kidness today. Choose anything, but do something. See the good.

I am going to take that direction. I am going to find kindling for my last ember of hope. I refuse to go cold. I refuse to give up my softness when I know it is all that will save me.

I don't care if she didn't follow directions; I don't care if she was disrespectful; I don't care if she was noncompliant; I don't care if she spit in his face, called him ugly, and smacked his mom - "immediate execution by the state" was not warranted; jfc, this isn't complicated.
losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

Whether the app stores drop X based on this will be telling
X basically industrialized the creation of fake porn of women who don't consent. Others did it first, but Grok made it normalized and centralized: publicly visible, instantly creatable by anyone, regardless of who's being targeted and dehumanized. Only question now is will X suffer any consequences

If you're new to masking while working out, I will tell you it's something you acclimate to. Back in 2021 I masked for roller derby for a while, still acclimated just fine yesterday
