Kiwi's remember that little island off to the West? Australia right?

They managed to install 100,000 home batteries in just 17 weeks

We.. we bailed on our Paris climate commitments..

OK, Tāmaki Makaurau, the hornet army is on the march. Time to saddle up, cut up some bottles and trap the little bastards before they do any more damage.

MPI has bumped up the zone so if you're inside that purple line it's time to get busy.

As an avid observer of algorithms I think I’ve figured out part of what happened here.

FB now explicitly looks for and directs posts you’re opposed to into your feed, to rage-bait engagement.

So now my posts are being actively boosted into people’s feeds of who reject climate. Ha! 😄😵‍💫
In 2018, Meta decided “clean energy” and “climate change” were politically sensitive topics, and demanded that I - a climate scientist - register as a political org to post and boost posts on them.

I refused, and my page has been shadow banned since then. For 7 years. Until this week, that is 😳

Fight back against the entitlement that many car owners have. Across Europe all sorts of towns have significant pedestrianised areas and they are full, full of people shopping, moving, meeting, conversing.

Gee, if only we had... checks notes:
- the now cancelled seaworthy ferries;
- the now cancelled seagoing tug to bring brokendown ships into safe harbour;
- Wellington's Water Police working on weekends. 🤔

All of these were safety cuts made by this awful govt.🧐 #nzpol

If you're in Ōtautahi, or will be in Ōtautahi sometime before April, go to the art gallery to see Unutai E! Unutai E! Kai Tahu and Anne Noble present images of Te Waipounamu's waterways as part of Kai Tahu's high court freshwater claim. The kōrero on these walls is like nothing else.

The first IREX ferry would have been online THIS WEEKEND if Nicola did not cancel them

Now we have 4 more years of dodgy shit while we wait for the TEMU option....
Boy am I glad the first replacements for these ferries will be arriving in Feb 2026, with port upgrades at Picton and Wellington nearing completion after two and a half years of work.

Oh wait, hold on a second, just hearing that ferries won't be here until 2029.

Australia is moving forward into the future. In contrast, Aotearoa seems to be held back, with Shane Jones appearing to chase ideals that belong to the past or perhaps even to the realm of fantasy.
Australia just launched the national Vehicle-Grid Network!

Every EV & PHEV owner will soon be able to sell power back to the grid and get paid.

Your car = mobile battery that literally makes you money while parked. This is HUGE. #auspol #climate #ev

Except the steering is broken

New ferries are 3 years away

The only suitable tug boat is being shelved permanently in two months

How on earth is this decent governance? How is this acceptable?

They should resign

I'm producing so much solar power on my old house that I get paid to pump it back into the grid. Even with constant EV charging & air con etc, my power bill is -$15. 😁
I only wish I got solar sooner. If you've been thinking about it, do it. Get some quotes & get a 1% loan. It's worth it, long-term.
