I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

The Fayed/Harrods case bears the hallmarks of sex trafficking

At least 400 women have come forward in the wake of the Harrods abuse scandal so why aren’t they being referred to the National Referral Mechanism?

Toby Young's Free Speech Union does not declare its donors - but through public records we found US anti-abortionists, Brexit politicians and Tufton Street insiders backing them

Ironically, the FSU recently hired an ex Daily Mail journalist - to investigate who funds Hope Not Hate and others 🤔

Reminder that in the UK an incoming radical, populist government would have immediate access to immense, unchecked executive power.

And the current government is doing nothing to protect us from that.
NEW

The UK constitution is even more vulnerable than the US constitution

In the face of an illiberal radical assault, what has happened politically in America could easily happen in the UK

Do not be surprised if in the first days of an incoming populist radical government there is an entire raft of statutory instruments and other measures prepared and ready to go, exploiting every gap in our constitutional arrangements.
And worryingly, as you highlight, it would be extremely naive for us to assume the well funded right wing “think tanks” haven’t already worked out exactly how to dismantle what protections remain at blitzkrieg speed, should they gain power.

Just so people outside of MN know - a lot of the US citizens getting “arrested” by ICE never get processed at Whipple. They are roughed up during the arrest and then often dropped off miles from where they were picked up. It means we don’t know the true scale of what ICE is doing based on ICE stats

This is important and, also, not not new. There were reports of this in LA, Portland, and Chicago, at least, as well.

The 'give ice qr codes' thing reminds me of when Sarah Everard was murdered by a real policeman using his real police id to kidnap her, and the police & gvt made out the solution was to have a helpline to check that the person bundling you away was a real policeman (as the murderer was)

Trump just announced a 25% tariff on advanced chips, but not on chips that are used within the United States. So it's a tariff on chips used an input into exports. Yes, effectively an export tariff.

The stated reason for ICE agents being in Minnesota is because of the ongoing fraud claims around daycare and other services.

The two prosecutors leading those investigations have now resigned in the wake of Renee Good’s shooting. Even the internal supposed logic of this deployment is falling apart

This is essential: a democracy *must* know who is paying its politicians and where that money is coming from.

Cryptocurrency is *designed* to make that impossible.

The whole point is to lift payments outside the scrutiny of the state.
Seven Select Committee Chairs have written jointly to the Prime Minister calling for an explicit ban on cryptocurrency donations in the forthcoming Elections Bill.

This is not an argument about digital assets. It is an argument about democratic integrity.

It should be bigger news that masked agents were filmed hours ago removing potentially inculpatory evidence from the ICE shooter's house, clearly lacking evidence tags or chain of custody stickers.

Before we have word on whether he underwent a toxicology screen at the hospital following the killing
