My 6yo has started pretend electronic locking her bedroom door at night so Trump can't get in. She seemed to think that he himself is going into homes and causing harm. There are children in her school whose families have been impacted by ICE so we assume this is where the concern came from.
A Wash Post review found instances of parents arrested near campuses in at least 10 states so far this year. Actions near campuses—which include shooting a man, releasing tear gas and engaging in a car chase—have prompted lockdowns. @justinemcdaniel.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
In cities targeted by ICE, empty desks and school disruptions follow
One in 5 students in Charlotte missed school after a recent ICE crackdown began. It’s the latest city where schools felt the impact of Trump’s deportation effort.

When an aspiring dictator says he wants to put to death those who oppose his lawlessness, we should believe him. He's pushing boundaries, as all abusers do, and grooming people to do the dirty work and grooming the public to accept his abuse of power.

If I can give 3 pieces of unsolicited advice to people facing ICE/CBP:
1) go outside
2) meet your neighbors
3) be loud

They want you to be isolated and afraid so they can work in secret, control the narrative, and act with impunity. They lose power when we see what’s happening and to whom.

the fellow Democrat is pushing back on the corporate head tax as well.

Pritzker had stated that the head tax penalizes more employment and makes it hard to attract companies to the city.

Proponents say former Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s removal of the corporate head tax left a hole in the city's budget that was never replaced; they want the rich to pay their fair share.

Alderman Sigcho-Lopez was right to call out Pritzker today about the state police arresting protesters. Pritzker responded that the state police are protecting protesters, and that just isn't true. State cops have arrested and brutalized protesters to facilitate ICE operations. That's reality.

There should be at least 25% more birds around you right now.
