So y'all.

Vaccines do not cause autism. I will be taking no further questions at this time.

Never forget that one of the people raging about how it was ableist and cultural appropriation to bring the chili was a landlord who was also looking for ways to hint at their tenants that they're polyamourous so their tenants would know they're cool. Or something.
I can't actually remember: why did people get mad about this very nice gesture that was well received by the neighbors?
Two years and two days ago, a woman delivered some chili to her new neighbors. Everyone was very happy and normal and there were no lasting effects.

I feel like I own Gillian Flynn a personal apology for how I reacted to certain scenes in Sharp Objects.

We've memory holed Occupy and the Iraq war protests in a big way. I've seen several people who legit should know better talk about how millennials never protested and they were happy to reinforce the system and I am just like... What?
It's still wild to me how much we've memory holed Occupy Wallstreet.

My political hot take: Bruce Harrell would have won if he hadn't made that joke about bringing back the Supersonics. You cannot make jokes about the Sonics in this city. Even almost 20 years later, everyone still takes it very personally. You just can't and then be re-elected mayor.

I mean... I would have tbh.
A multi-day freakout about Mamdani's chances apparently happened because Millennials were waiting to vote until they could get the special Halloween-themed "I voted" stickers

This is so stressful. Has anyone else noticed?

Everything else wrong with it aside (and I will acknowledge that's a lot of racism to put aside) why the fuck is anyone, much less the fucking White House, making MySpace jokes in the year of our Lord 2025?

It's possibly the lamest thing I have ever seen.

If I catch any of you millennials out there saying this shit about Gen Z, we're going to fucking fight. No! We lived through this! We fucking know better! We are breaking the cycle right the fuck now.
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”

This pisses me off. I don't have many opinions about news anchors but my strongest held one is that I fucking love Gayle King.

This is the very first appearance of Dr. Teeth, on March 18, 1975, promoting the upcoming MUPPET SHOW: SEX & VIOLENCE special. It’s remarkable to see how comfortable Jim Henson was both performing & improvising this brand new character, & just how fully-formed he already was...

If I was Idris Elba I would sue the fuck out of this.
Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.”

Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.

... Everything I said about how "it doesn't matter whether or not he's a Nazi the question is if he's fit for office and the answer is clearly 'no'" I take back.

Dude's a fucking Nazi. Or a White Supremacist. Unlike the PodSave bros, I'm not stupid.

IIRC Cracked had a whole "it happened to me" type section that was nothing but this.
I think a lot of people don’t realize how insanely pervasive and coercive the early 2010s “the only way to make it as a young writer is to publish insanely confessional, raw online essays about your darkest secrets and trauma” culture was.

And lions!
this is a special episode for those of you who want to hear me critique Ben Shapiro's knowledge of Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Rudyard Kipling
New Behind the Bastards 📖

Robert and Cody Johnston sit down to read Ben Shapiro's latest non-fiction book, which seems to be based entirely on him not understanding how lions work.

Oh no.

... Oh nooooo.

Alexander Graham Bell is pretty controversial in the Deaf Community. It might have been a good idea to have a Deaf person review this before sending it out into the world.
Alexander Graham Bell worked closely throughout his life with deaf people.

In fact, he described this work as “more pleasing to me than even recognition of my work with the telephone.”

One of the people he joined forces with? Helen Keller.
