The White House surely wants to see one of these ICE crackdowns lead to violent pushback. They've got untrained unqualified goons acting with impunity. It seems deliberately designed to provoke an incident.

I think it’s critical to get money out of politics—or at least vastly reduce its role—because a lot of people who really believe in vibrant communities don’t want to run in a system where you have to spend half your workday fundraising to keep your job

Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.

THE OPEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF GRIEF IS A POLITICAL ACT.
One of the things that genuinely shocked me as I read through surveillance logs for the police is how much of their energy and attention is dedicated to shutting down vigils and other ceremonies of remembrance.
Anyway ICE was filmed desecrating Renee Nicole Good’s memorial & doing violence to people who found that distasteful. Might be too soon to say if this falls into some kind of pattern of behavior if you’re the stupidest motherfucker on earth.
