There's a pair of little old church ladies that volunteer 4 mornings a week at my train stop to pass out big bags of food and snacks and a giant homemade cookie to passengers bc Amtrak doesn't have a food car on that line. They've been doing it nonstop since Covid.

I saw Avatar 3 on Friday. I enjoyed the new worldbuilding, the fleshing-out of established canon, and my attention was rapt for the whole 3h17m. I concede that the stakes could have been a little bit higher, but I am liking the story that James Cameron is crafting, and I hope a 4th is made.

The long-term closure of Stevens Pass/U.S. Highway 2 wouldn't be too bad if we had something better than a single daily train linking Seattle with Eastern Washington. We need more intrastate passenger rail service in Washington State.

again, this is a Europe regulations vs U.S. regulations thing! there are a total of five pages discussing the different beam strength at different wavelengths in the european standard, whereas the DOT says headlights must be "white."
