This is at least the fourth story I've seen of an author having to exchange multiple emails (over 20) with this publisher to get the contract language to not be rights grabby and it's one of three where the writer walked away.
I appreciate the effort and transparency but I will also say-

I've been doing video game VO since 2003. In my 20+ years, only ONE game has ever paid "royalties/residuals/bonus payments."
That game?
Date Everything.
And that's ONLY because it's a game produced by professional voice actors who purposefully created a special contract for the game w/ SAG-AFTRA.

I spent today down in Hamilton, Ohio as part of the official grand opening of a new @barnesandnoble.com there, and used this enormous pair of scissors to cut the red ribbon. I considered stealing the scissors. I ultimately did not. If the staff cannot find them later IT WAS NOT ME.

I just walked out of federal court where I pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges against me.
