Whenever Ken Starr returns to the news, it's fun to remember that one deputy investigating Bill Clinton (and Vice Foster) was ... Brett Kavanaugh!

Extra fun to remember that GWBush FL Recount team in 2000 included Brett K, J Roberts, AC Barrett.

Plus help from FL gov Jeb Bush. Good times!
Ken Starr emailing with Epstein in 2018 is a really interesting thing to learn about!!!!!!

One of my biggest beefs is when people belittle Representation as unimportant.

Do you have any fucking idea how much less terrible my mental health might have been if there was a ton of positive representation of homosexuality in the media????

There's a decent chance someone winds up in a position to leak far more (or even all) of them, and at some point that very well might happen, especially as Trump's popular illegitimacy grows over time.
To be clear, even if I thought there was absolutely zero chance the files come out, forcing the issue is useful: Americans deserve to know which of their politicians are actively running cover for *the trafficking and rape of children.*

Ok, now we’re cooking. So Trump is whipping hard against this thing that will still need a vote in the senate and then that Trump will still presumably veto? Is there *any* chance that the shady behavior around all of this leads to enough votes in both chambers to get to 2/3?
Discharge petition timeline: it now takes seven legislative days to "ripen," after which a vote within two legislative days. Most likely early December.

That gets you to Massie's standalone Epstein files bill. It would still have to pass the Senate and either be signed (heh) or a veto overridden.

can you imagine if this just somehow put things over the edge and the president resigned because the conspiracy was exposed

Imagine if Dems in the Senate hadn't caved. The House wouldn't be in session rn, the discharge petition wouldn't be signed, people wouldn't have SNAP, govt workers would be RIF'd & the GOP would have some decent talking points. But also online rage addicts would be happier! YMMV!

a lot of people on this site seem to not fully grasp that to a lot of people, pedophilia is in fact obviously way worse than things like “war crimes in general” or even crimes against humanity, and that this is stronger in trump’s base than here for obvious reasons

I've been doing video game VO since 2003. In my 20+ years, only ONE game has ever paid "royalties/residuals/bonus payments."

That game?

Date Everything.

And that's ONLY because it's a game produced by professional voice actors who purposefully created a special contract for the game w/ SAG-AFTRA.
Ask literally any voice actor if they get royalties from the video games they worked on.

They will tell you no. They might even laugh.

Now imagine any developer actively trying to use AI VO to save money wanting to offer something like that.
Also, re: "they get royalties", how much money is that? Does it make up for the lack of continued work?

Paying next to nothing is still "getting paid royalties" but is functionally nothing.

In my opinion, one of the biggest revelations from the Epstein-Trump emails is that Michael Wolff -- who calls himself a journalist -- acted as a publicist and PR crisis manager for the most notorious sexual predator in recent memory.

And he did this for YEARS!

Also, very funny how the Dems keep trying to do this “release the Epstein files!” thing as a naked base pander in mimicry of the other side’s conspiratorial muckraking, and then the files actually do get released, and it’s like “oh wait Trump really is all over these things, he really did it huh”
