The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

This is stunning. Listen to this in Philadelphia.

Thousands singing “Hey-Oh, we won’t be silent while our friends are gunned down.”

Really listen to it.

& this wrap up:
(Vance's) comments justifying the death of Renee Good are a moral stain on the collective witness of our Catholic faith. His repeated attempts to blame Good for her own death are fundamentally incompatible with the Gospel. Our only recourse is to pray for his conversion of heart.
"Vance’s twisted and wrongheaded view of Christianity has been repudiated by two popes. His Catholicism seems to be little more than a political prop, a tool only for his career ambitions and desire for power."

Pundits insinuating that what Trump just did in Venezuela is part of some larger coherent foreign policy strategy as if he and his toadies are poring over tattered copies of Politics Among Nations drives me nuts. So i wrote this: www.thenation.com/article/poli...

During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

Some 20+ years ago, I co-ran a tech strategy company, mostly serving telcos, and new data companies. We had a brilliant lead analyst from the film industry. (Josette Bonte, not here).

Then, telcos wanted in on movies and music.

Nice 🧵explaining the errors of Yglesias' writings promoting burning fossil fuels. He's so wrong that it's hard to consider the errors are based in utter incompetence instead of actual malice.
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
