But court records, interviews and other accounts from people close to Vought show that DOGE’s efforts were guided, more than previously known, by the OMB director.

“I can’t imagine that the DOGE team knew to target all these little parts of the government without Russ pointing them there.”
Vought holds one of the most powerful jobs in D.C., and he’s used his position to wage a quiet war to change the shape of the entire U.S. government.

Here's what you should know about Trump’s shadow president.
What You Should Know About Russ Vought, Trump’s Shadow President
Vought is the architect of President Trump’s broader plan to fire civil servants, freeze government programs and dismantle entire agencies. Here are some key things to know about the D.C. insider who ...

Agree entirely.
If you’ve got a Senate Democrat who is not calling for new leadership, they’re part of the problem.

We should no longer trust Senate Dems who decline to come out against the leadership that led us here. Until proven otherwise, we should assume they were in on the game to fool their own supporters.
“After a year spent organizing to try to convince the Democratic Party to unify and oppose this regime, here’s where I am: The time for convincing is over. We need new leadership.” - @ezralevin.bsky.social

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

"No" would be the right decision
Today the Supreme Court heard a very, very technical case about whether a government contractors (in this case, private prison company GEO Group) should get essentially qualified immunity for contractors (I'm oversimplifying). The answer, it seems, will be no.

Why did Republican Senators insist on this protection?
Why are they so terrified that the public prosecutor and thus potentially the public… might discover something about their actions on January 6?

How about a 100 year mortgage with even lower monthly payments so I can just let someone else pay it off?
Every reporter or financial analyst writing about the 'math' of a 50-year mortgage better include what the **actual** cost is to the borrower over time. It is a fucking joke. Show the full amortization schedule and how much one really ends up paying!!

Fight, fight, fight! (for the ACA)
Your colleagues promised us — promised activists, promised social media influencers, promised organizations — that they were actually going to fight for the ACA, that it was non-negotiable.

You lied to us. You betrayed us. And this is your plan? I know you're not this stupid Sheldon.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.
