You know how Republicans oppose popular bills as "pork" and then return to their districts to claim credit for passage?

That's what centrist Democrats do internally. Yes, Democrats are definitely better than Republicans, but it's despite centrists not because of them. Don't ignore their sabotage.

ICE/CBP have gone unfunded for 3 days; how about 3 years? The best way to claw back the $170 billion immigration enforcement surge in the Big Beautiful Bill is to just claw it back. The 2nd-best way is to slowly drain it by never funding the underlying appropriation. @ryanlcooper.com makes the case:

Democrats should not provide one thin dime to MAGA storm troopers.

Very on-brand for centrists to brag that they do morally atrocious conservative things - only more competently and compassionately. That's also how Gavin Newsom contrasts his war on the homeless with Donald Trump's. Centrists share conservatives' goals, but they differ slightly on implementation.
Hillary Clinton: "More people were deported under my husband and Barack Obama without killing American citizens and without putting children into detention camps than were in the first Trump term or this first year of Trump's second term."

Exactly this. "I'll vote for whichever candidate has a D next to their name no matter what their actual policy positions are!" sends a message to the politicians that they don't need to care about what you want at all. It's wild that people keep volunteering their unconditional support.
It's like sitting down in a negotiation and telling the person you're trying to get something out of that you're going to agree to the deal, regardless of what they put on the table. Even if that were true, it is obviously a bad idea to tell them that!

😬Yikes! It sounds bad when you say it like that!

"Black women are losing jobs at 3 times the rate."

Much better! Makes it sound like the Black women just need to be more careful or better at their jobs!

New labor data shows Black women accounted for a disproportionate share of job losses across 2025, especially in federal, education, and care-sector roles.

Yup. As with conservatives, every centrist accusation is actually a confession. They’ve been using that “driving away people like me” rhetoric forever because they’ve been voting GOP all this time
plus, the left has shown much better "party loyalty" and harm-reduction instincts in the actual voting booth than the center has. PUMA democrats bail to support the right when a more progressive candidate is on the ballot far more than leftists do when the usual centrist is.
