Today marks 50 years since the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald on its voyage through Lake Superior. As we mourn the loss of those 29 sailors, let us be humbled by the forces of nature on the Great Lakes. The wave heights and winds were extreme that day.

One of the few benefits of being a pleasant looking pudgy white woman: I may have gotten pulled over today for way-expired tabs (The reminder card never got to us w/moving. Oops.), is that I didn’t get a written warning or ticket. He just told me to go home and take care of it asap. (I did.) Whew.
