It’s nearly impossible to explain to non disabled people the hope we had at the beginning of the pandemic.

Hope for inclusion & accommodation. For better awareness & treatment of chronic illness.

Having that hope ripped away and replaced with increasing ableism, eugenics & hatred? Its devastating
Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.

I keep seeing on the news people in the cup style N95 masks, but they haven't fit the nosepiece to their nose. The masks work better if you pinch the metal around your nose just enough to make it follow the curve of your face. Masks are only as good as they fit.

This is extremely unjust. If I were less emotionally exhausted I would have a lot more to say about it but: ban the use of criminal background checks for irrelevant jobs. Stop using prisoners as slave labor. Abolish prisons.

And in 2026, that amount could double, or go away completely as an option, because the only reason our healthcare is as "affordable" as it is was a concerted effort that expires at the end of 2025.

Without subsidies, our ACA premiums for a fam of 3 would be $3000 per month in 2025. With? $1800.
Next year we (2 people) will pay $12,461.28 for health "insurance," and this amount means my insurer will pay for the bare legal minimum of preventive care; anything else we need we will pay out of pocket, until I have paid an additional $8000 for me or $16,000 for the family.

The Times and its supporters and apologists have blood on their hands and a lot to atone for.
It’s genuinely shocking if you’re remotely familiar with the basic facts of trans care and youth medicine.

It is *profoundly* difficult to access gender-affirming care as a minor and the Times has printed more than a dozen articles implying that it is too easy.
in hindsight the NYT anti-trans crusade is one of the most despicable things that any big time journalism outfit in this country has ever done. a perfect and clearly intentional layup for the fascists on the Supreme Court
