I met a guy in Vegas a few weeks ago who looked to be about my age (mid to late thirties) and who somehow had never seen the Wizard of Oz until that day at the Sphere.
I’m watching a guy react to The Wizard of Oz, a movie he has never seen before, and basically the entire video is him going “oh, [X] was referencing this” every five minutes.

I know this is curmudgeonly but I feel like I would pay more attention to GivingTuesday if it was actually just a once a year thing, not every few months. It's overwhelming to have all the charities and organizations I do actually support flood my email inbox with please for money.

Banging the drum once again that you can condemn political violence while also admitting the most effective strategy at preventing violence is not doing things that traditionally spark violence like occupying a city with the military.
Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

It is interesting to me in what ways this city really is conservative. The debate around the comprehensive plan especially showed to me that a lot of Seattlites just want to roll the clock back to 1992.
Seattlites love to think of themselves as liberals but for half this city that just means they want a mayor who loves gay people and wants to shoot the homeless.
