Rather marvellous, this 👇
DYK, that sepia ink was originally made from squid ink?

DYK, that it is possible to recover the remains of ink from fossil Belemnites?

DYK, that Mary Anning discovered this?

DYK, that you can reconstitute that fossil squid ink and use it to draw?

DYK, this was en vogue in the 19th century?

Near where I live is a field of sunflowers, highly appreciated by those of us walking through them on the footpath. They’re not yet harvested but are slowly decaying. I noted a ring of tiny spots of fungi around the back of most of the flower heads.

Delightful detail from the Roman “unswept floor” mosaic by Heraclitus, showing a mouse nibbling a walnut.

Superb use of darker tiles for subtle shadow effect!

The BBC isn't perfect, but it belongs to Britain not Trump.

Political leaders across the UK must unite in defending its independence from the White House.

There are many subtle and complex arguments one can have about the future of the BBC — but I guarantee you that no other channel or streaming service will be as committed to factual programming, children’s education, history shows, religious discussion, poetry, arts, or state of the nation debate

Are there mycologists or publishers out there who need a Mycological illustration artist?

This is the only place I’d even ask this question. 😁

Putting it out in the world that I’d love to take on a detailed project & illustrate a fungi book!

Willing to build a portfolio if this is a possibility ⬇️
