I signed this. ProPublica marketed HARD on being the last journalists with integrity standing. I believed them and donated the equivalent of my subscription to the Post two years in a row. They won't see a dime from me if they don't fly right.

like i have been saying, if you have ADHD you should be standing with trans people on their medical rights for basic moral and solidarity reasons but also the practical reason that you can fight at their barricade or you can fight at ours but it's the same fight
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Sadly, this appears to be AI. There are some tells throughout (hands disappearing, the people in the background staring like collective zombies, some weird configurations on the walls) but overall, this looks pretty real -- it's getting harder to tell what's real and what's not. Which ain't great.

We need to know who is vulnerable among us and how we can protect them so they can continue to do their work with integrity.

This is not a "grading essays on controversial topics" problem.

This is a "protecting our colleagues from bad actors" problem.

This is just my opinion, but I don't think departments need to change their strategy for reading or grading student work.

Departments need a strategy for responding to harassment and attacks.

Here’s a novel idea: what if we discussed how to support the TA while she’s going through this. How do we help an academic worker who is being institutionally thrown under the bus and actively harassed for doing her job because of who she is?
