I honestly hope that all those US citizens appalled by what the US is doing in its territory, get as appalled and angry when the US does/promote that abroad. Because THE US HAS BEEN DOING THAT FOR OVER 100 YEARS.

The current fascist regime in the USA is pushing the country towards a civil war. Unless the other side starts reacting, they will end up with more and more casualties from a paramilitary force that has been granted absolute immunity. 1/2

Gave an interview to Redeye about the state of the international legal order and how we can make sense of it. Despite the atrocities and problems we can attribute to the system that gave us the UN, there was a set of rules in place that is no longer in place.

European states are catching up fast to the fact that the US is operating under a new set of rules that have little to no connection to those of the post-WWII order. Canada and other countries would be wise to act in the same way. The UN-based legal order is gone.

Venezuela attack, Greenland threats and Gaza assault mark the collapse of international legal order
Successful American action in Venezuela and threats against Greenland suggest the rules-based international order that emerged following the Second World War is now on life support.

I wrote this piece for @ca.theconversation.com. Legal and political theorists should start recognizing that the post WW2 legal order is no more. Thus, we should theorize and act accordingly.

Trump is bragging about the re-emergence of the Monroe Doctrine under his regime. Yes, the foreign postition that claims that Latin America is under US control and they can decide how to run or if/when to colonize. And of course, he claims the US will run Venezuela for the foreseeable future.

If you didn't get an academic position because you were white, I feel sorry for you for being deranged enough to believe that that is the real reason you didn't get a job. So, in summary, if you think you were denied an academic job for "being white," all I can say to you is LOL.

I know regular US citizens and soldiers are specially good at self-deceptio. They are experts in pretending they are the good guys of history and that every genocide, invasion, and atrocity they commit (constantly), is for a good reason. 1/7

Some people saying, "Palestine has never existed. " Meanwhile, David Hume "Yeah, I will write an entire Chapter of the history of England in connection with the State of Palestine." If people want to call David Hume a 'woke' Enlightenment author for this, that would be a fun turn of events.

Grow a spine and stop whitewashing the legacy of a White supremacist. Unless, of course, you think White supremacy discourse and politics are your thing. In this case, keep going. Is always good to see who people are.
September 13, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Just to be clear, if someone promotes a white supremacist agenda and the incarceration of minorities, with the domination of women attached to this, that is not only a political position. It is an existential threat for BILLIONS, and as such, it is a good reason to "finish" any kind of relationship.
September 11, 2025 at 11:57 PM
I think that having concentration camps and a legal system that supports racial profiling and mass incarceration of minorities is political violence to begin with. Also, that those who promote or support those things are promoting political violence already. 1/3

This is an open letter I helped draft, where we ask the @apaphilosophy.bsky.social to do the bare minimum and condemn the genocide and mass starvation in Palestine. Just as they have done with other conflicts, taking a stand in favour of humanity is the bare minimum they should do. 1/3
