I’ve said this b4, but here’s a little inside baseball from a former Republican: Back in my GOP days, we Republicans would privately laugh at how Democrats would never go to the mat to win. We always knew Democrats wouldn’t fight to the death politically.
Last night proved Republicans right again.

I hope we are able to someday look back on this era with the ability to laugh at stuff like this.

@stevengodfrey.bsky.social I feel compelled to let you know Will Wade so far is averaging one technical foul per game (2-2). And we’re eating it up.

“Taking UAB plus the points feels like the move”

Obviously Central playing a ton of zone combined with hot outside shooting played a big part. So I’m not sure what to expect tonight…UAB has better players and will no doubt will defend State differently. Taking UAB plus the points feels like move, but I’ll be happy to be proven wrong.

On top of the YT TV freeze out, ESPN’s gamecast is acting wonky. Thinks it’s still the first half, not updating the Recent Plays section. I know it may be more of an issue of the score keeper/software in the arena than ESPN, but it sucks.

UAB is not Central. And basketball is easier when your open looks go in instead of when they don’t.

Even if fully half of SNAP recipients were using the funds fraudulently, which is not remotely true, is it worth starving the other half to…prove a point? Score points with your base? It’s not just psychotic…it’s horrible politics.

If the Dems were even 1% coordinated and competent, they’d be able to weaponize moments like this. But instead they’ll keep bumping into walls like a malfunctioning Roomba.

I watched the Central game replay last night. You’ve heard of a player getting a “quiet” 20 points? That somehow felt like a team getting a “quiet” 114. It never felt like they exploded or went on huge runs. It was just a steady, consistent conversion of possessions into scores - 19 of them 3s.

Maybe if this keeps getting stupider, something will change to eliminate gerrymandering by both parties.

As Trump will prove once again when he refuses to release SNAP funding today, court orders from judges are meant to be ignored, not adhered to.

Why are we tiptoeing around these extrajudicial killings?
The Trump administration alleges the boats targeted by recent U.S. strikes were being operated by narco-terrorists and cartel members. The AP identified four of the men who were on the boats—and found the truth is far more nuanced.
