It is striking how often “there is plenty to criticize, but not this/not now/not like this” is rolled out as a defense.

There is plenty to criticize the NYT for but if you ever try, they circle the wagon
I don't understand why people have to concoct wild conspiracy theories in order to critique the NYT. I say this as someone who writes for them: there is plenty to critique without making up wild scenarios and insisting they're true!

Don't get me wrong you shouldn't lie when you are reporting... but it's possible to perform the act of journalism without pretending you're a cipher who respawns every morning with a baby's brain and zero clue about how the world actually works.

I know things are bad in the US right now, but this number is still shocking to me. I’m not entirely sure how I would answer this question myself, and I’ve chosen to spend the last seven years living in another country.
"In 2025, 40% of women aged 15 to 44 say they would move abroad permanently if they had the opportunity. The current figure is four times higher than the 10% who shared this desire in 2014, when it was generally in line with other age and gender groups."

The percentage of younger women in the U.S. who express a desire to migrate permanently has surged in the past decade.

As a former member of NYT’s finance team & the co-author of this story exposing the relationship between Epstein & Bill Gates as well as one on Epstein & JPMorgan, I am really frustrated to see people claiming that NYT sat on publishable info about Trump and Epstein 🧵 www.nytimes.com/2019/10/12/b...

Also, how fucking insane is it that Jeffrey Epstein found Donald Trump so morally repugnant he emailed evidence of his OWN CRIMES to the New York Times to stop his presidential run and the NYT just ignored them?

JEFFREY EPSTEIN had stronger convictions than the NYT.

Wasn’t expecting the Epstein scandal to blow up the New York Times but sure, why not
To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

I øvrigt vil jeg gøre opmærksom på POSIWID princippet her: The Purpose of a System Is What It Does.

Oh, it turns out Hitler had *bad genes*?

If only someone had fought to keep people with bad genes out of Germany WW2 could have been averted 😬

I am starting to wonder Hitler truly did win the war in the long run 🤦‍♂️

it is a victory of Hitlerite thought that people are attempting to use Hitler’s own logic to explain the man himself, looking at his genes rather than from the socio-political factors that allowed him to rise
