Thank you for your amazing help so far! This sort of thing used to be easy on Twitter but I would like to prove it is possible to launch and promote something entirely through this website. Which it is.
I've mentioned this quietly, but - since the summer my hobby has been making this ambitious murder mystery podcast. A story. Narrated by me, with a mouthwatering cast. Partly interactive. Trailer is coming tomorrow but if you like the sound of this, please follow @murderbastard.bsky.social.

This caught my eye @joebrownlondon.bsky.social Barbican station c.1976 & 30 years on from the loss of the original Metropolitan Railway station (and overall roof) & before the now present office block on its site. There's even the now demolished signal cabin. #london #railways

Calling all #biologists on @bsky.app - a great campaign from @rsb.org.uk to highlight the diversity in the biosciences as well highlighting the more unusual aspects of our jobs.
If you are passionate about your biological job it would be great to let others know using #IamABiologist this week?
eg ⬇️
It is #IAmABiologist Week - organized by @rsb.org.uk
Aim is to highlight the diversity of roles in the biosciences

I study organisms that live in Antarctic, Arctic and Baltic sea ice
over the years has required many curious moments - including sweeping ice floes in the middle of the Weddell Sea?

My fellow Icelanders are still adding to this thread, so I recommend you read the comments. They are pretty hilarious.
When you register your name in the Icelandic phonebook you can choose to state your profession. And they have a pretty loose definition of what exactly a profession entails.

This person for example has opted for „þjóðhetja“. It means „National Hero“.

Gull didn’t arrive for breakfast this morning and so she’s probably left for her winter holiday. I like to think of her in Denmark.

Went 40 mins over the lake to village and all the gulls have gone, even near the fishing boats.

The swallows are still swooping and lots of mergansers about.

This was the summer that nearly ended Finns. Yet the world did not even notice.

The sky looked like rain.

The ravens have been flying round cronking, the northern divers whooping… gull waiting on the jetty… we’ve all been waiting.

The sky is back to blue now.

20 straight days with 30 °C in Finland! Truly unprecedented heatwave still in full swing with maximum today about 32-33 degrees.

Even the Arctic regions (e.g. Sodankylä Tähtelä) have seen three weeks above 25 °C, and may rival tomorrow their August heat records.

Saimaa seal here again this morning. Much closer today and swam above the surface for a while before a roll down into the water showing distinctive patterns.

Completely silent except for northern divers whooping down the end of the lake from time to time.
