I've hypothesized that post WWII America pivoted so hard toward fearing communism that we all got a huge dose of anti-communism propaganda and zero anti-fascist propaganda. That said, imagine if the tattoo in these reports was a hammer and sickle.
if you're reaction to this is not "what the fuck is wrong with the military" instead of "oh it can't be that bad", you should sit with the idea longer.

I once made the horrible revelation that the U.S. is uniquely unequipped when technology makes abundance possible without labor because Americans equate human value to the ability to work and make money. If the Vulcans came with a replicator tomorrow, our society would collapse.

It's worth noting how things that were just assumed for middle class boomers got increasingly harder to obtain for their children, making xennials and millennials even more susceptible to fascist propaganda. E.g. "DEI is why you can't afford a house like your parents could."
Finally, this is something I originally wrote on the hellsite back in 2018 that seems relevant, and dare I say even prescient, as to why middle-class white boys are easy targets for racist groups.

While maybe not everyone had an edgelord libertarian phase specifically, I think going through a shitty person phase is not that uncommon and especially among those still searching for confidence and identity. That's a lot of teenagers and twenty-somethings, myself included.
