News of the pallet of cash comes two days after the City Council voted to open an investigation into $21 million previously found through an audit. The release of public records and oversight hearings are expected later this month and in early March.
The Portland Housing Bureau (PHB) is sitting on $106 million in unspent funds, far more than was previously reported. City Administrator Raymond Lee outlined the funding in a memo Friday afternoon.
Update: Portland Housing Bureau's Unspent Funds Reach $106 Million
News of the unspent money comes two months after city councilors learned the city's Rental Services Office amassed $21 million in revenue, which went unreported for months.

I join my City Councilors in calling for prosecution of ICE for this flagrant violation of city and state law. This is illegal, and if ICE does this to families and children on a sunny peaceful daytime protest, I shudder to think what they do without that kind of daylight and public scrutiny.
I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

A big group stopped outside the ICE facility and federal agents dropped several rounds of chemical ammunitions. The crowd leaving the scene was the most chaotic I’ve ever seen it and the gas was the most intense. I don’t know how/why the gassing started.

Huge props to my comrades at @portlanddsa.bsky.social & @jwjpdx.bsky.social for making it happen.

Richmond, VA widened bus stop spacing to nearly 1300 feet a few years ago as part of a redesign we did. Des Moines and Louisville are doing the same as part of projects of ours rolling out soon.

Bigger cities -- where the benefits of respacing are even greater -- should study these examples.
Increasing the distance between stops from 700–800 feet to 1,300 feet (typical spacing in Western Europe) can deliver faster service, better reliability, and more service with the same resources.

My lukewarm take is that even if she *were* cheating, she didn’t deserve to be doxxed. I think many people justify treating cheaters—particularly “the other woman”—like Bad Actors, as if they’re, say, a sexual predator. They are humans making unkind interpersonal choices. Get some perspective.
This is going to trigger another round of abuse for this woman but the basic facts appear to be that she was separated at the time and so was the CEO. She recoiled on the jumbotron because her husband was attending the same concert.
At a Coldplay concert in July, Kristin Cabot appeared on the Jumbotron in the arms of her boss. Cabot retreated, trying to make things right with the people who mattered most. Now, for first time since that viral moment, Cabot is sharing her side of the story. trib.al/I8tWdU4
