This is going to be my new pinned post: a thread of family recipes, with photos of the finished product, for my own future reference, posted as I make them.

Let me know if you try any of them!
Discovered last night that when I upgraded my phone last month, the rep at my AT&T store added, WITHOUT ASKING ME, a multi-device protection plan ($50/month) & their upgrade anytime plan ($10/month). My bill was $105 more than it should have been (because of a partial-month charge for the former).

Sat on the floor to fix the track on a kitchen drawer and Fig immediately claimed her favorite spot and Fable also had to supervise.

The problem with having spent so much time in fandom/fic spaces: I already know the definition of the word so many people are (smartly) refusing to look up.

I haven’t read the new Lizza piece but just a screenshot of him saying he didn’t know the word tells me far more than I ever needed to know.

the reason this is amazing is because the most opportunistic self-serving shitheads in this country are acting like MAGA is a toxic brand, and this is GREAT FOR US.

they are still not our friends.

Incredible to see our Dem leaders pass a resolution condemning socialism while our greatest socialist mayor hasn't even been sworn in and has already gotten the president to admit to being a fascist

Piece of plastic holding up the track for one of my kitchen drawers busted. Tried to superglue it back together and that failed but I got superglue all over my fingers in the process so had to get that cleaned off. Ended up rigging it up with a twist tie.

It works, and that’s good enough for me.

Unfortunately the party leadership will not take a single lesson from this or capitalize on the moment at all and instead perceive Mamdani as even more of a threat and work even harder to undermine him and anyone like him.
Trump's praise of Zohran Mamdani today is political gold for the Democratic Party.

You can already see the MAGA meltdown happening and the infighting commencing.

Stephen Miller and the other hardliners are absolutely losing their minds right now.

People were arguing in my mentions today about whether the Earth is "round" when it's technically an irregular oblate spheroid and look "round" doesn't mean "absolutely perfect sphere" it means round. A soccer ball is round, a cantaloupe is round, a fluffy borb in winter is round, just go with it.

Mamdani: I've spoken about --

Trump: Just say yes, it's easier than explaining.

This is a pretty exhaustive takedown by Judge Ellis, going through DHS claims versus body cameras.

Also, fuck ICE.
THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

I'll go through some of the most egregious ones here.

I’m getting more and more of these too. It’s depressing.
I am by no means a prominent public intellectual, but my inbox is increasingly filled with messages from people who have been convinced by sycophantic chatbots that they have discovered revolutionary theories that entirely upend our scientific understanding of the universe.

The U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika as a hate symbol. The policy similarly downgrades the classification of nooses and the Confederate flag.

Instead, the Coast Guard will classify the Nazi-era insignia as “potentially divisive”

Had to open it in my browser, in desktop view instead of mobile, to get the options to appear.
This was indeed the case in my Gmail. I would add that Settings opened to Quick Settings, and I had to click "Show all settings" to get General.
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
