We’re going to have to step up to protect and support our literary journals, independent presses, and institutions. This just happened to everyone. I’m thinking through this ❤️
We, too, received an email from the NEA on Friday. Like so many others, our award for 2025 was terminated. So to all of you who donate or subscribe, or have recently bought an issue or a tote or a T-shirt, thank you. In the times ahead, we will no doubt be needing each other more than ever.

If you’re a federal employee, you should know this is a lie. Congress hasn’t appropriated these monies and so it’s literally not there to be spent. Also, federal agencies are limited by law to a max $25K payout in the case of restructuring.
BREAKING 🚨 🚨 🚨

President Donald Trump's administration is set to offer every single federal worker the chance to take a "deferred resignation" with a severance package of roughly eight months of pay and benefits.

Trump just took 500 Marines on standby to help with escalating California wildfires and sent them to the border instead, where migrant crossings have been at the lowest level they’ve been in years since July. Unbelievable.

And apparently armed, which is new. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
