Zero tolerance for trolls, agitators and liars, including those who falsely equate critics of the Israeli genocide to be supporters of Hamas or antisemitic.

And yep, once again some people frame my critique on capitalism as "eco-communist crap". The sad thing is that it's very unlikely that these people themselves are benefiting from this system, but they seem ideologically imprisoned without knowing it. It keeps surprising me.

Ik weet niet zeker of individueel vs. collectief niets uitmaakt - dat hangt o.a. van de mogelijkheden voor lobby'en af, en van de totale gedragseffecten.
Maar het huidige bestaande systeem is zeker geen collectief-equivalent van het individuele systeem dat op principiële grond wordt verdedigd.

overigens is de vraag of dit kan zonder internationale overeenkomsten. Maar goed, zonder paspoort kan je ook niet ver reizen, dus het is mogelijk als er politieke en maatschappelijke wil is. Dit is er onvoldoende, o.a. door de prikkels in het (politieke en economische) systeem

Hmmm... het voordeel van het op het niveau van het individu te leggen is dat ALLE emissies er mee gedekt worden; en er is veel voor te zeggen het niet / maar zeer beperkt / sterk gereguleerd verhandelbaar te maken Dat zou m.i. veel grotere effecten hebben op totale uitstoot.

My wish for 2026 is that Europeans will be as critical and vigilant about authoritarianism and racism in their own country as they are about them in the U.S. and that Americans will be as critical and vigilant about authoritarianism and racism in the U.S. as Europeans are.

Jort Kelder deed wel zijn best om tegengas te geven, al helemaal gegeven zijn eigen ideologische positie. Ik begrijp alleen niet waarom je zo iemand uitnodigt om zo uitgebreid de politieke situatie te "duiden". (dat was het woord dat Kelder gebruikte, maar m.i. niet wat AK deed).

Meer staat leidt tot meer gelijkheid en minder vrijheid, leidt tot meer armoede, leidt tot verderf. Zoiets zei hij. Je houdt het niet voor mogelijk. Oh ja, en de data die iets anders zeggen, en wat de planbureaus zeggen, zijn niet te vertrouwen, "wat je er in stopt komt er uit". 🤷‍♀️

wat een idiote definitie van "links en rechts" van Andreas Kinnegin op Radio 1 zonet, waarbij hij D66 en CDA als linkse partijen neerzet - omdat ze de staat centraal zetten. Dus, als "de Staat" 40 miljard subsidie per jaar aan fossiele bedrijven geven, dan hebben we een meer links land?

All other relatives in the car have been killed. In order to get an ambulance to her (from a hospital 8 car-minutes away), the Israeli need to give permission, via some diplomatic mediators). Otherwise the Israeli will also destroy the ambulance. >

CvB’s hebben uiteindelijk meer macht dan decanen. En zij worden benoemd door de RvT die op haar beurt benoemd wordt door de minister. RvT wordt ook benoemd door de minister en is zo goed als onzichtbaar voor universitaire medewerkers.

Ik zou ons wensen dat meer leidende figuren aan Nederlandse universiteiten meedenken, en zich uitspreken, over de bestuursvorm van de Nederlandse Universiteiten.
Bij sommige ben ik bang dat ze zo graag zelf bestuurder willen worden en daarom strategisch hun mond houden. Een vorm v zelfcensuur, toch?
