There is something really wrong with people who need workers to be not just competent, but slavishly fake-happy. "Slavishly" used on purpose, bc that's where this grotesquerie comes from.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

This is the correct explanation of what happened tonight👇
KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.
-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

This is what I meant yesterday when I said the blue wave wasn’t about the Democratic Party
The Party didn’t do much. In some cases, it risked doing damage by approving or disapproving candidates regardless of what voters wanted
The wave was created by voters DESPITE the Party
And that’s democracy

The Republicans have been promising a specific plan as an alternative to Obamacare ever since it passed in 2010. The promise is 15 1/2 years old now. That's probably why they don't seem very sincerely interested in it.

Karl Jansky invented the field of radio astronomy OTD in 1932.
During a solar eclipse he saw no change in the faint radio hiss he'd been monitoring, ruling out the sun as a source. He soon attributed this "star noise" to large ionized gas clouds near the center of the Milky Way. 🧪 🔭

Amen to this.
For sure some of the legacy media outlets are downplaying the protests because they’re aligned with Trump, but I think an even bigger factor is how many elite journalists have a patrician disdain for the idea that politics can happen in the streets and not just the CNN green room.
