Fun fact this is the second time protest chants have been sampled in a Bruce Springsteen song. The first time was when Little Steven spliced audio from the Rodney King riots (among other news clips) into "57 Channels and Nothin On," a critique that hits harder now than it did at the time.

The first guy to treat him, claiming to be a medic, assumes there’s a gun he needs to clear before he can help. There is no gun.

We learned more about positioning, de-escalation, weapons fire control, and having one person in charge when I was a young Infantryman headed to Iraq than we did here. The lack of humanity or even the desire to not to create the conditions where someone will get hurt is stunning and heartbreaking.
