dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”

This afternoon, in addition to Charlie Kirk, there was a school shooting. Bullets don't know and don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat. It is time for Republicans and Democrats to find a way to work together to reduce gun violence.

During the Cold War, many people believed in so-called “convergence:” that U.S. and Soviet systems would eventually become fairly similar.

Looks like they were right.
Want to see how life is in such a country - look at Russia.

A poor, racist, uneducated, violent country.

Others have noted that this means foreign-born people are LESS likely than UK-born people to be in prison. What I want to note is that The Times is now referring to foreign-born UK citizens as ‘foreigners’. This includes Boris Johnson, Sir Mo Farah, Emma Watson, Rory Stewart and little old me.

Did you know that the bilateral current account between the EU and the US is roughly zero? You thought the EU had a massive surplus, didn't you, just like Donald Trump does?

What a chart. The Iran nuclear deal Trump I tore up was working perfectly - Iran was not enriching in that era.

Now, Trump is dancing on the edge of a volcano in the hopes of getting precisely that kind of deal back.

Beides problematisch.

I don’t disagree, but according to the data from the post she cites it’s very apparent that they are more center leaning (def in comparison to my gen). Since German policy overall leans right over the last years one could make the point that the center now is the new right. As of now = „stabilizing“
April 20, 2025 at 7:32 AM

To the argument that it’s not fair for 500 million Europeans to expect 340 million Americans to defend them from 140 Russians, one could say:

For most of the post-Cold War era, Americans weren’t defending Europeans from Russians. Europeans were supporting Americans in their wars in the Middle East.
An often overlooked aspect, on both sides of the Atlantic, of US military presence is Europe is that the US needs bases on the continent for global power projection.

@cepa.org is doing a public service with these interviews with ex-US generals explaining how exiting Europe will hurt America
