I watched the first three episodes of Heated Rivalry. Hot, fun, nicely written and acted, knows EXACTLY what it wants to deliver and delivers it. I'm crushed not to have a smirky take for you.

as both a weeb and a trekkie, this is actually a great way to differentiate the stark contrast between Seasons 1-2 of TNG, going into Seasons 3-5
annoying both weebs and trekkies alike by calling tos “showa era star trek”

I’m rereading the STAR TREK novel DARK MIRROR by @diane.dianeduane.com. It’s the TNG take on the Mirror Universe and it has one of my favorite things in all of Trek, not just Trek Lit, the whole franchise.

Picard reads his counterpart’s Shakespeare collection and notes how it’s DIFFERENT there

RESULTS: Democrat Tim Keller has won reelection as mayor of Albuquerque.

He defeats a former Republican sheriff, who took issue with Keller's executive order that limited collaboration with ICE.

And that's not all: Liberal faction seizes majority a city council.

I want to live like a person on TV. I want to fill my cup a third of the way with water, end a call with a loved one without any kind of goodbye and then ask the hottest person I’ve ever seen “Are you alright? You look like hell.”

There's a related problem, "right-wing agitslop is freely available and good writing is not," which is also not the fault of either of the two broke-ass people. A lot of justified anger boils over at the wrong targets.
not sure how to square ‘no one person can be reasonably expected to pay for every media subscription’ with ‘sorely underpaid writers need to make a living’ but my inclination is not to locate that problem with any of the broke ass people on either end of the complaint

Guys, do not use the Discord Checkpoint thing (Discord's attempt at Spotify Wrapped).

It requires enabling them access to scrape your data, and has an alarming amount of private data being used for it.

Make sure you have these disabled.

When we talk about physical media, we are often only taking about personal collections but a big part of shunning the current digital ecosystem is supporting your local library. Not just for print books and periodicals but for movies, games and other medias too. Get. A. Library. Card.

ok great, time to definitively end the one thing that made the service popular to begin with

have they fired the CEO yet??

they are gonna miss the “25 by 25” milestone and that is the sort of thing that results in fired executives. just wondering, just wondering…

Maybe I'm being too generous but I can't see Netflix make WB Pictures stop releasing films in theaters and stop making DVDs and Blu-rays. I think Netflix is going to be the one that changes its ways more than Warner Bros. in this merger.

Netflix isn't just buying a film / television studio here, they're buying Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as well.

WBHE co-owns, with Universal, the SDS joint venture that controls the distribution of WB, Universal, Sony, Disney, Lionsgate, and Criterion titles.

Here's the ones from my Gundam watch thread (which is #PhoenixWatches0079 if you want context for them)
